I am thankful for many things in my life. One of those things are my friends. I would be pretty much nothing without them. Many of them have always been there for me during hard times in my life and i am so thankful and blessed to have many of them in my life. Another thing is my sister. We fight a lot but at the end of the day i love her. One last thing that i am very thankful for is pretty much the life i was given. I am so fortunate to be able to live such an amazing life and lots of these things people are given today are taken for granted.

AP Chapter 17 Study Guide

1) Discuss the ways that the creation of the global economy in the 16th and 17th Centuries differed from the previous trade networks that had existed between civilizations.

The global economy in the 16th and 17th centuries had finally created a global trade network. With many European expeditions around the world, the European countries started to trade goods with people around the world more and more. The discoveries of both Americas created two new continents to trade with for the Europeans. Lots of deadly diseases spread through these kinds of trades, and epidemics were common.

2) Discuss the reasons allowing the West to establish its dominance in the global trade network of the 17th Century.

The West established its dominance by gaining control of many important bay cities that helped them control the global trade network of the 17th century. The West had far superior ships than many other countries, therefore letting them sail farther and conquer more land. This also allowed the Europeans to sell faster and farther than their opponents to valuable resources.

3) How did the British and French North America differ from the other European colonies?

The European colonies only focused on controling the coastal cities and using them to their advantage in the global trade network, but the British and the French wanted to control more than just the coastline, they wanted to conquer the inland of North America. Many British and French explorers wandered inaland to claim land for their countries to use to as farmland and plantations. The British and French were more concerned about gaining resources from North America than just controling the coastal cities for trade.
